Here's an unpopular opinion: When you come across those characteristics, chances are, you're too junior for C-Level.

Any C-Level executive inherits great responsibility and needs to manage people and processes. That requires understanding the business and the people. So if you just engange in writing code and take things lightly, CTO is probably not (yet) your position.
